FAQ
What happens if the inspector asks for the books and I don't have them or they're wrong?
It's the first thing they check, and a poorly kept record exposes non-compliance. Without books, you can't prove overtime, vacations or anything else.
Which books are mandatory?
The employee register, overtime and vacation records, among others required by the LOTTT.
How much does it cost?
The professional fee, from $65, covers setting up and updating the records; it's adjusted to their condition and number.
What are they for?
They're the first thing a labor inspector checks.
Can they be kept digitally?
Yes, as long as they meet the LOTTT's requirements; we'll guide you.
About this procedure
Venezuela's labor law requires every company to keep a series of labor books and records up to date: the employee register, the overtime log and the vacation register, among others. They're not a formality: they're exactly the first thing a labor inspector asks to see on arriving at your company, and they determine whether you come out of an inspection well or get hit with a penalty. Many companies have them incomplete or out of date, or simply don't have them, and don't notice until it's too late.
The catch is that setting up and maintaining these records the way the law requires means knowing exactly what the LOTTT (Venezuela's labor law) demands, what each book must contain and how to keep them so they hold up under review. A poorly kept record can be worse than none at all, because it exposes the non-compliance. And once the inspection arrives, there's no time to improvise: either you have them right, or you don't have them.
We get your labor books and records in good standing: we create the ones you're missing, update the ones you have and structure them the way the labor law requires, so your company is shielded in any inspection. The price starts at $65 and is adjusted to the condition and number of books. A lawyer reviews your case and confirms everything with you before we start, no strings attached.
Legal framework and important notes
Ley Orgánica del Trabajo (LOTTT, Venezuela's Organic Labor Law)
- The LOTTT requires keeping labor books and records up to date (employee register, overtime, vacations, among others)
- They're the first thing the labor inspectorate checks
- This service sets them up and updates them; it doesn't include handling an inspection or a full audit (separate services)
We guarantee our service, not what the agency decides. If something depends on them, we tell you clearly and in time.
