Privacy policy

This English version is provided for your convenience. If there is any difference between the two versions, the Spanish version governs.

1. Your data, in good hands

This policy explains what data of yours we keep, what we use it for and how we protect it. The party responsible is Squuad Systems, C.A. (a Venezuelan corporation; tax ID, RIF J-50852432-2), the company behind Abogado Comercial. For any matter regarding your data: info@abogadocomercial.com. It applies to everything you do on this portal: procedures and legal, accounting, technology and education consulting. By creating your account or using the portal, you give us your permission to use your data as this policy explains. You can withdraw it whenever you want (section 15).

Venezuela does not yet have a general personal data law. That is why we follow the Constitution (articles 28 and 60) and the principles set by the Constitutional Chamber of the TSJ (Supreme Court of Justice) in ruling 1318 of August 4, 2011: consent, purpose, security and confidentiality, among others. If a personal data law is passed, we will comply with it.

If there is any difference between this policy and its translation, the Spanish version governs. If you need this policy in audio or large print, write to us and we'll send it to you.

2. Professional secrecy

What you tell us for your legal case is protected by the lawyer's professional secrecy (article 25 of the Código de Ética Profesional del Abogado Venezolano, the Code of Professional Ethics for Venezuelan Lawyers). Accounting matters are protected by the public accountant's professional secrecy (article 11 of the Ley de Ejercicio de la Contaduría Pública, the Public Accounting Practice Law). We treat technology and education consulting with the same confidentiality. Only the people on our team assigned to your case see it, and only what must be submitted to the agency to carry out your procedure goes out. The only exception is when the law requires it, for example, by order of a judge. Everyone who works with us, whether on our team or as an associate, signs a confidentiality agreement. Anyone who breaches this secrecy answers to us and to the law. This secrecy continues even after our work with you ends.

3. What we ask for and why

We ask only for what is necessary, as required by the purpose principle set by the TSJ (Supreme Court of Justice) in ruling 1318.

  1. Name, last name and email: for your account, your invoices and your case alerts.
  2. Your password: so that only you can log in. It is stored encrypted; no one on our team can see it.
  3. Phone: to update you on your case and to assist you by WhatsApp or phone call.
  4. ID (cédula) or tax ID (RIF) and billing details: for your contract and your invoice.
  5. Addresses: to send you documents.
  6. Information about your businesses and the people you are responsible for: for the procedures you ask us to handle in their name.
  7. Documents in your briefcase (your folder on the portal): for your procedure and to alert you before they expire.
  8. Payment receipts: to confirm that you paid.
  9. Your appointments and what you write in the booking calendar, the live chat or Dili: to assist you and reply to you. What you write in the chat stays in your case file, like any message you send us.
  10. Technical data about your connection: to protect your account from suspicious access.

4. Sensitive data

The Constitution protects your private life and your privacy (article 60). Some cases involve sensitive matters: criminal, family, estates, health (medical leave and medical certificates), fingerprints, dismissals and debts. In those cases we ask only for what the procedure requires. Only the lawyer or accountant on your case and their supervisor see that information, and every change and every time it is shared is logged. Dili never receives your case files or your documents. We never use them for anything other than your case.

We never ask for your religion, your politics, your origin or your sexual orientation. If your procedure truly requires it, we tell you beforehand.

5. Data about other people that you give us

For payroll, IVSS (Venezuelan Social Security Institute), FAOV (mandatory housing savings fund), INCES (national training institute; collects the employer training levy) or an estate, you give us data about your employees, partners or family members. You are responsible for that data; we only process it on your behalf and for what you asked us to do. By giving it to us, you confirm that you have their permission: using another person's data without their permission is a crime in Venezuela (article 20 of the Ley Especial contra los Delitos Informáticos (Special Law Against Computer Crimes)). The same applies to the accounting we keep with Squuad: the books and invoices belong to your company.

If one of those people asks us something about their data, we let you know and resolve it with you. When we finish working with you, we return or delete that data if you ask us to, except what the law requires us to keep (section 14). If you give someone access to your account, we keep their name and email only for that purpose.

6. What we never do

  1. We do not sell your data.
  2. We do not rent it out or trade it for anything.
  3. We do not send you advertising from other companies.
  4. We do not use your documents or your cases to train artificial intelligence.
  5. We do not share your email or phone number with social networks to show you ads.
  6. We do not review your documents beyond what your case needs.
  7. No machine decides on your case: a person on our team always makes the decision.
  8. We never ask for your password by WhatsApp, phone call or email. If someone asks you for it in our name, it's not us.

7. Who we share it with

Sharing your data without your permission is a crime in Venezuela (article 22 of the Ley Especial contra los Delitos Informáticos (Special Law Against Computer Crimes)). That is why we share it only in these cases:

  1. The agency for your procedure: SENIAT (Venezuela's tax and customs authority), SAREN (Venezuela's registries and notaries service), notary offices, registries, city halls and the rest.
  2. The lawyer, accountant, agent or motorcycle courier working on your case, whether on our team or an associate, all with a signed confidentiality agreement.
  3. The people you give access to from "People with access". You can remove their access whenever you want.
  4. The services that make the portal run: the server, email, WhatsApp and the payment processor. They receive only what is needed for their part and commit to protecting it.
  5. If you pay with Cashea, Cashea receives the data it needs to approve you.
  6. An authority, only when the law requires it and with a written order.

If the company ever merges with another or changes owners, we will notify you beforehand, and your data will remain protected by this policy.

8. What becomes public

  1. Some procedures are public under the Ley de Registros y Notarías (Registries and Notaries Law). For example, what is recorded at the Registro Mercantil (Commercial Registry): company name, partners and capital.
  2. If you write a review, your first name, the initial of your last name and what you wrote are visible. We publish all reviews, good and bad, except insults or personal data. Search engines like Google may show them.
  3. With its QR code, the Digital Notice Board shows your business name, its RIF (Venezuelan tax ID) and whether its documents are current, about to expire or expired, with their validity date. It only shows the documents you authorize, and never the full document or your personal data.
  4. If you work with us, anyone can verify online whether your ID card is active.

9. Your payments

We do not store your card numbers. Card payments are processed directly by a payment company that meets banking security standards. We only see that you paid and how much.

If you pay by Pago Móvil (Venezuelan instant mobile payment), bank transfer or Zelle, we see the payer's name, the amount and the reference, only to confirm your payment. If you split the payment with Squuad Split, we see only the name and reference of each person who pays.

Your invoice includes your tax details, as required by the invoicing rules of SENIAT (Venezuela's tax and customs authority). We keep the history of your benefits account so you always know how much you have.

10. Dili, our artificial intelligence assistant

Dili answers only with the information we ourselves give it: our FAQs and our procedure pages. It never answers with information from outside sources. To understand your question and write the answer, it uses an artificial intelligence provider that does not use your messages to train its system. Your conversation with Dili is deleted automatically after 2 hours. If Dili can't answer something, we keep the question, without your email addresses or phone numbers, to improve the answers. Dili does not decide anything about your case or replace your lawyer: when needed, it hands you over to a person. Don't write passwords or card numbers to it.

We follow the 2026 Código de Ética para la Inteligencia Artificial (Code of Ethics for Artificial Intelligence) of the Ministerio del Poder Popular para Ciencia y Tecnología (Ministry of Science and Technology).

11. Alerts, WhatsApp and Recommend and earn

  1. Alerts about your case and your deadlines reach you because they are part of the service.
  2. News and promotions reach you only if you agree, and you can opt out whenever you want: send BAJA (unsubscribe) on WhatsApp or use the link in the email. You can withdraw your permission to receive them whenever you want, as recognized in ruling 1318 of the TSJ (Supreme Court of Justice). When you unsubscribe, we stop writing to you within 48 hours at most.
  3. We only accept recommendations of people who know you are recommending them. We use their name and contact information only to write to them once on your behalf, and if they don't want to hear from us, we don't write to them again.
  4. We do not record calls or video calls without telling you first, as required by the Ley sobre Protección a la Privacidad de las Comunicaciones (Law on the Protection of Privacy of Communications).
  5. If you write to us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp's privacy policy also applies.

12. If you are outside Venezuela

The portal's server and some services we use are located in the United States. If we add services in other countries, we will say so here. Even if your data travels, it remains protected by this policy and by Venezuelan law.

Apostilles, LLCs and services in Florida involve passing your data to the notary or the United States agency that handles the procedure. We send only what is necessary for that procedure. If we form your LLC in Florida, what is filed becomes public in the state registry (Sunbiz). Your Live Scan fingerprints go only to the FDLE, the Florida agency that runs the check.

If you live outside Venezuela, you have the same rights explained in this policy.

13. Cookies

Venezuela has no cookie law; we are guided by the Constitution (article 60) and by the duty to inform you and ask for your permission set in ruling 1318 of the TSJ (Supreme Court of Justice).

  1. Those needed for the portal to work: your session, your cart, your language and your preferences.
  2. Those that tell us how you got to us (Google, social media or a link), so we know what works. That data stays in our system and does not follow you to other websites.
  3. If you arrive through the link of someone who recommended you, we store a cookie so that person earns their benefit.
  4. Our own cookie that remembers your visit: a random number, without your name or your data. It lets us see which pages of the portal you visit, what you search for here and where you came from, so we can reach out at the right moment and help you with what you are actually looking for. It lasts 180 days. We do not store your IP address.

You decide: when you arrive, a notice lets you accept or reject, and you can change your mind at any time from "Cookie preferences" at the bottom of the page. If you are in Europe, we measure nothing until you accept. If your browser asks not to be tracked (GPC), we respect it. If you reject, the portal works the same and you can still chat with us: we only see which page you are on while you are there, without saving your path.

If you sign in or create your account in the same browser, your path is linked to your account so we can serve you better. We never link it through an email someone types or through an IP address.

We also store your briefcase and your preferences in your browser, so you don't lose them. If we ever use advertising or third-party cookies, we will ask for your permission first.

14. How long we keep it

  1. Your account, your briefcase and your addresses: as long as you have the account. If you delete your account, everything is deleted, except what the law requires us to keep (invoices, tax records and the case file).
  2. Invoices and accounting documents: 10 years, as required by article 44 of the Código de Comercio (Commercial Code).
  3. Tax records: as long as SENIAT (Venezuela's tax and customs authority) can review them, which is 6 years (article 55 of the Código Orgánico Tributario, the Organic Tax Code), and up to 10 years in the cases set out in its article 56.
  4. Your case file: 10 years after it is closed, the period during which claims can be made regarding it (article 1.977 of the Código Civil, Venezuela's Civil Code), under professional secrecy.
  5. Technical data about your connection: 6 months.
  6. The path of your visits: 12 months. If you have no account and did not write to us, it is deleted after 90 days without coming back. The chat conversation stays in your case, as part of the case file.

What you delete may remain in our backups for a few days, until they are replaced.

15. Your rights

These rights are given to you by article 28 of the Constitution. You can:

  1. Know what data of yours we hold and what we use it for.
  2. Correct it or bring it up to date.
  3. Ask us to delete it.
  4. Withdraw your permission whenever you want.
  5. Request a copy of your data to take with you.

Exercising your rights costs you nothing. To protect you, before giving you your data or deleting it, we confirm that it's you. Someone else can request it for you if they bring your written authorization or a power of attorney.

You can change much of it yourself in My account. For everything else, write to us at info@abogadocomercial.com. A person replies within 5 business days at most. If we don't respond within 20 business days, the law allows you to go to a municipal court judge (juez de municipio) with a habeas data petition (article 167 of the Ley Orgánica del Tribunal Supremo de Justicia, the Organic Law of the Supreme Court of Justice).

16. How we protect it

Protecting your data is a duty set by ruling 1318 of the TSJ (Supreme Court of Justice), and Venezuelan law punishes anyone who gets into our systems without permission.

Your account has a password, and everything travels encrypted between your device and the portal. Documents are stored in a protected folder, with names no one can guess. We strip the phone's location data from photos. Only the team working on your case has access: each person sees only the screens their role allows, and what they do is logged. If you share a document, the link expires after the number of days you choose, can be password-protected and is automatically disabled after 10 failed attempts. We make backups so your documents are not lost.

Use a password you don't use on other sites, and don't share it with anyone. If anything ever happens to your data, we notify you within 72 hours at most of finding out and tell you what to do.

17. Minors

Protecting the image and private life of children and adolescents is required by article 65 of the Ley Orgánica para la Protección de Niños, Niñas y Adolescentes (Organic Law for the Protection of Children and Adolescents), and their best interests come first (article 8).

  1. You must be 18 or older to have an account.
  2. A minor's data may only be provided by their father, mother or legal representative, and only for the procedure they requested.
  3. That data is stored in the representative's folder and protected as sensitive data (section 4).
  4. We never publish data or photos that identify a minor: not in reviews, not on the Digital Notice Board, not on social media.
  5. If we learn that a minor has opened an account, we close it and delete their data.

The Edusof and Squuad portals have their own privacy policies.

18. Changes

  1. Every change carries the new date at the top.
  2. If the change is significant, we notify you by email and in your account 15 days before it takes effect.
  3. If we want to use your data for something new, we first ask for your permission again, as required by ruling 1318 of the TSJ (Supreme Court of Justice).
  4. We keep previous versions, and we'll give you whichever one you ask for.
  5. If you don't agree with the change, you can close your account and ask us to delete your data (sections 14 and 15).
