FAQ
What happens if I change my RIF and don't update RUPDAE?
They fall out of sync, and that reads as an inconsistency in a SUNDDE inspection. The certificate no longer matches the actual company.
When do I have to update RUPDAE?
Only when something changes in your RIF: legal name, address or business activity.
How much does it cost?
The professional fee, from $45, covers the full update in SUNDDE's system; there's no official fee.
Do I need to change my RIF first?
Yes: the RIF change with SENIAT comes first.
And the certificate?
It's not included; if you need to show it updated, we get it for you separately through the RUPDAE certificate service.
About this procedure
With the 2026 change in the law, RUPDAE was simplified to one easy rule: it no longer expires, and you only have to update it when something changes in your RIF. You changed your legal name, moved your tax address, or added or modified your business activity with SENIAT (Venezuela's tax and customs authority): in any of those cases, your RUPDAE has to reflect the new information, because a registry entry that doesn't match your RIF reads as an inconsistency in an inspection.
Today this is the RUPDAE procedure that really matters, and the one most often overlooked, because people update their RIF and forget that RUPDAE hangs off it. The mismatch just sits there, quietly, until an inspector cross-checks the data or an institutional client asks for your certificate and it doesn't match your current RIF. Keeping them aligned is one of those simple things that prevent big headaches.
We keep your RUPDAE aligned with your RIF: we enter the changes in SUNDDE's system, check that everything is consistent, and leave your registry entry updated. The price starts at $45 and is adjusted to the changes that need to be reflected. A lawyer reviews your case and confirms before we start, no strings attached.
Legal framework and important notes
RUPDAE rules under the Ley Orgánica de Precios Justos (Organic Fair Prices Law)
- Since 2026, the update is the only case in which the law requires touching RUPDAE, and it applies when the RIF changes (legal name, tax address, business activity)
- The RIF change with SENIAT is a prior requirement
- Keeping RUPDAE and RIF aligned avoids inconsistencies in an inspection
We guarantee our service, not what the agency decides. If something depends on them, we tell you clearly and in time.
