FAQ
What happens if I don't update the company's RIF?
It falls out of step with your actual situation or SENIAT suspends it, and without a current RIF you can't invoice, collect payments or get a compliance certificate: the whole operation grinds to a halt.
When should I update the company's RIF?
When the registered address, representatives, capital or activity change, or when it has gone a long time without an update.
How much does it cost?
The professional fee, from $45, covers the complete update; SENIAT doesn't charge for the procedure.
What do I need?
The minutes backing the change (address, board of directors, capital) and the representative's cédula (Venezuelan ID card).
Do I also need to update the RUPDAE (national registry of businesses, run by SUNDDE)?
Yes, after the RIF; we coordinate it for you.
Do I have to go to an office?
No. Since August 2026 (SENIAT administrative ruling Providencia SNAT/2026/00080), RIF registration and updates are done exclusively through SENIAT's electronic channels; we handle it for you.
About this procedure
A company's RIF must always reflect its actual corporate situation, and that situation changes more often than you'd think: the head office moves, a legal representative comes in or steps down, the capital is increased, an economic activity is added or changed, a shareholders' meeting amends the bylaws. Each of those changes has to show up in the RIF, because a RIF with old data is a RIF that starts failing right where it hurts most.
And it fails at critical moments: the bank rejects a transaction because the representatives don't match, a corporate client won't pay you because your RIF shows up as outdated, a tender rules you out, or SENIAT itself suspends your RIF because it went too long without an update. For a company, a suspended or inconsistent RIF isn't an administrative detail: it's a roadblock that can stall the whole business until it's sorted out.
We bring your company's RIF up to date: we check its status, align the data with the company's actual corporate situation, organize the required documents and handle the update with SENIAT so it ends up current and consistent. The update at SENIAT is free; what you pay for is our handling, from $45. An advisor reviews your company's case and confirms with you before we start, no strings attached.
Legal framework and important notes
