About this procedure
When a contractor company changes on the inside, it changes its name, amends its corporate purpose, increases capital, a shareholder comes in or leaves, it moves its tax address, those changes also have to be reflected in the RNC. The reason is consistency and risk: the government checks that the company registered as a contractor is exactly the same one that appears in its current articles of incorporation and bylaws. If the RNC says one thing and your record at the Registro Mercantil (Commercial Registry) says another, that contradiction is an observation waiting to show up when your bid is reviewed.
The practical catch is that the business owner makes the corporate change at the Registro Mercantil, celebrates that it's done, and forgets that the RNC depends on that information. The mismatch can go unnoticed for months, until the big tender arrives and, on review, the agency finds that the registered contractor doesn't match the company as it actually is today. Aligning both records in time is what keeps an internal change from becoming an external hurdle.
We bring them into line: we take your corporate changes, already recorded, and update your information in the RNC with the SNC, so your contractor profile faithfully reflects what your company is today. The price starts at $90 and is adjusted to the changes. A lawyer reviews your case and confirms with you before we start, no strings attached.
Legal framework and important notes
Ley de Contrataciones Públicas (Public Procurement Law)
- Corporate changes (name, corporate purpose, capital, shareholders, address) must be reflected in the RNC so it matches the articles of incorporation and bylaws
- Inconsistency between the RNC and the Registro Mercantil triggers observations when bids are reviewed
- Requires recording the change at the Registro Mercantil first
- SNC fee separate
