FAQ
What happens if my criminal record certificate expires before I use it?
You lose the whole procedure and start over: it's only valid for 90 days. That's why when you get it matters as much as getting it.
Does it go through SAREN?
No: it's issued by the Ministry of Interior, Justice and Peace and apostilled by the MPPRE; it's the MPPRE's only 100% digital apostille procedure.
How much does it cost?
The professional fee, from $35, covers the full handling and working out the right moment; official fees and shipping are extra.
How long is it valid?
Only 90 days; that's why we advise you on when to get it, based on the date you'll submit it.
Is it done through the consulate?
No, only through the official online systems; we handle it for you wherever you are.
About this procedure
Did you know you can do this procedure yourself on the online systems of the Ministry of Interior, Justice and Peace and the MPPRE? It's absolutely true, and doing it on your own costs less. We're a service company: we don't charge you for access to the systems, which are public, but for taking the procedure off your plate. We do it for you, with no mistakes and at the right moment so it doesn't expire on you, while you get on with your life. And we send the document wherever you are, in Venezuela or abroad.
The criminal record certificate is one of the key documents in any immigration process: you'll be asked for it for residency, status regularization and work visas, and above all for jobs in security, healthcare and education. But it has two quirks that need careful handling. First, the channel: the certificate is issued by the Ministry of Interior, Justice and Peace through its own online system, NOT by SAREN (Venezuela's registries and notaries service), and from there it's apostilled through the MPPRE's electronic channel. Second, and most important, the apostilled certificate is only valid for ninety days. This is where many people go wrong: they apostille it too early, it expires before the immigration office or the consulate opens the window for their application, and they have to pay and start over. We don't just handle it for you, issuance and apostille from start to finish; we also advise you on the right moment to do it, based on the date of your process, so it arrives still valid. And we send it wherever you are, in Venezuela or abroad.
Legal framework and important notes
Código Civil (Civil Code) · 1961 Hague Apostille Convention
- The certificate is issued by the Ministry of Interior, Justice and Peace through its own online system, not by SAREN; it's then apostilled through the MPPRE's electronic channel.
- Valid for only 90 days. Apostilling it too early means it expires before your procedure.
- It isn't processed through consulates.
- It's a fully online document, with no in-person signing.
- Timing depends on the response of the Ministry of Interior, Justice and Peace and MPPRE online systems, which we don't control, but we manage it so it comes out as soon as possible and we keep you posted.
We guarantee our service, not what the agency decides. If something depends on them, we tell you clearly and in time.
