FAQ
What happens if I try to open the subsidiary or the account abroad with documents that aren't apostilled?
The foreign bank or registry rejects them and the deal stalls. For them, your company doesn't exist until its papers are apostilled.
Is the apostille on my commercial document valid for opening a subsidiary abroad?
Yes: with the apostille, your commercial document is valid before authorities and banks abroad.
How much does it cost?

About this procedure
Did you know you can do this procedure yourself on the SAREN online system? It's absolutely true, and doing it on your own costs less. We're a service company: we don't charge you for access to the system, which is public, but for taking the procedure off your plate. We do it for you, with no mistakes that make you lose your payment, while you carry on at work, at the office or at home. And we send the document wherever you are, in Venezuela or abroad.
When a Venezuelan company needs to operate, open a subsidiary, sign contracts, bid on tenders, open an account or attract investment abroad, it's asked for its commercial documents apostilled: articles of incorporation and bylaws (one single document in Venezuela), shareholders' meeting minutes, the company file, commercial powers of attorney and certified financial statements. The apostille is what gives them international validity under the Hague Convention. Since June 2026 the procedure is fully digital: SAREN's commercial documents are legalized and apostilled online, with no government windows. There are two steps, legalization (official verification of the signature on the document) and then the apostille, and a single data entry error throws out both the application and the payment. We handle it for you: we check that the documents are correct and current, file the procedure on the SAREN online system, follow both steps and hand you the finished apostilles. Since companies usually need several documents at once, we put together a complete corporate package, and if you have recurring volume, we offer special partner terms.

- Since June 11, 2026, SAREN documents, both civil registry and commercial registry records, are apostilled 100% online through the SAREN online system; there is no longer in-person service for them.
- There are two steps. First the legalization, then the apostille.
- Since it's a 100% online procedure, you don't need to sign anything in person. We do it all for you and send it to you.
- Timing depends on the SAREN system's response, which we don't control, but we manage it so it comes out as fast as possible and we keep you posted.
