FAQ
What happens if I try to practice or validate my degree abroad without an apostille?
It doesn't count: for that country it's just a piece of paper. The apostille is what turns your Venezuelan degree into an internationally recognized document.
Does the apostille on my degree go through SAREN?
No: the university degree goes through the GTU and is then apostilled at the MPPRE, with an in-person appointment.
How much does it cost?
The professional fee, from $45, covers handling of the GTU and MPPRE process; official fees and shipping are extra.
Why do I need it apostilled?
To practice your profession or validate your degree outside the country.
Do I need to be in Venezuela?
No; with a power of attorney authorizing legalization and apostille, we handle it for you and send it to you.
About this procedure
Did you know you can do this procedure yourself through the GTU and the MPPRE online system? It's absolutely true, and doing it on your own costs less. We're a service company: we don't charge you for access to the systems, which are public, but for taking the procedure off your plate. We do it for you, with no mistakes that cost you your appointment, while you get on with your life. And we send the document wherever you are, in Venezuela or abroad.
To study, work, practice your profession or validate your degree in another country, your university degree has to be apostilled. You need to be crystal clear on the route here, because many people get it wrong and lose time and money: academic documents do NOT go through SAREN (Venezuela's registries and notaries service). The university degree is first legalized through the GTU (Gestión de Trámites Universitarios), the Ministry of University Education's system, and then apostilled on the MPPRE online system (SLAE). If your university is public, there's also a prior certification step at the ministry. And watch out for a detail that trips up a lot of people: if a single detail in the system doesn't match the physical degree, it can't be apostilled, and no corrections are accepted on the day of the appointment. We handle the whole process for you: we check that the degree is correct, handle the certification through the GTU, process the apostille with the MPPRE and hand you the apostilled degree. Since many countries also ask for certified transcripts, we put together the complete Academic documents package for abroad. And we send it wherever you are.
Legal framework and important notes
Código Civil (Civil Code) · 1961 Hague Apostille Convention
- The academic route does NOT go through SAREN.
- University degrees and transcripts are legalized through the GTU of the Ministry of University Education; high school diplomas, through the Zona Educativa (the Ministry of Education's office in each state); then comes the apostille on the MPPRE online system (SLAE).
- Public universities have a prior certification step.
- If any detail doesn't match the physical document, it won't be apostilled, and it can't be corrected on the day of the appointment.
- Timing depends on the agency's appointment availability, which we don't control, but we manage it so it comes out as fast as possible and we keep you posted.
We guarantee our service, not what the agency decides. If something depends on them, we tell you clearly and in time.
