About this procedure
Before you fall in love with a name and send it off to be registered, there's a step that saves money and headaches: the clearance search. Trademark registration in Venezuela follows the principle of specialty (your trademark is protected for specific classes of products or services under the Nice Classification) and the principle of territoriality. The search checks SAPI's records for an identical or similar trademark in your class that could block yours, before you put time and fees into an application doomed to be rejected.
