FAQ
What happens if I live in Venezuela without naturalizing?
You remain a foreigner, with no Venezuelan cédula, no passport and without certain rights. The carta de naturaleza is the door to full nationality.
Does the carta de naturaleza make me Venezuelan?
Yes. It's the act that grants Venezuelan nationality by naturalization; we handle your whole file and, once it's granted, record it at the Registro Civil.
How much does it cost?
The professional fee, from $130, covers preparing the file and handling it; official fees are separate.
Do I get my cédula with this?
Not directly; it puts your nationality in order so you can apply for your cédula with SAIME.
What does the timing depend on?
On the agency and on your case; we confirm it when we assess it.
About this procedure
The carta de naturaleza is the path by which a foreigner becomes Venezuelan when they don't hold nationality by birth or through another direct basis. It's naturalization in the strict sense, and it's a serious case file: it requires proving a period of legal residence in Venezuela, good conduct, means of support, command of the language and a series of documents, with a formal application to the competent authorities, who evaluate it and, if it's approved, grant the carta. It isn't fast or automatic, and a poorly put-together file gets stuck or denied. We stand by you from start to finish: we assess whether you meet the requirements, build the complete file with all supporting documents, file the application and follow up on it, and once the carta de naturaleza is granted, we record it at the Registro Civil (Civil Registry: births, marriages, deaths) so you can go get your cédula (Venezuelan national ID card) and passport. The dream of many residents, handled by people who know the way.
