FAQ
What happens if I can't prove where I live?
Banks, schools and agencies send your paperwork back. Proof of residence is a basic requirement, and a lot of things stall when it's missing.
What is proof of residence for?
It certifies where you live to banks, agencies or procedures that require it.
How much does it cost?
Professional fees from $30 cover the handling; official registry fees, if any, and the apostille are separate.
Is it valid abroad?
It has to be apostilled; we do that separately.
Is it the same as the one from the consejo comunal?
No; the consejo comunal's is a supporting letter, and this one is the Registro Civil certificate. We tell you which one your procedure requires.
About this procedure
A proof of residence certifies where you live, and you'll be asked for it in a whole range of situations: opening bank accounts, enrolling your children in schools by district, identity procedures, loan applications, court cases and even voting in some cases. In Venezuela it's issued by the Registro Civil, which usually asks for a supporting letter from the consejo comunal (local community council) of your area, and sometimes people don't know where to go, or the one they got is turned down because it doesn't have the right format or endorsement. We guide you and get you a valid proof of residence based on whoever is asking for it, so it doesn't get rejected, and if you need it apostilled (Hague Convention certification for use abroad) for a procedure abroad, we prepare that too. A simple document, done right the first time.
Legal framework and important notes
Ley Orgánica de Registro Civil (Organic Civil Registry Law) · Código Civil (Civil Code)
- The document is obtained at the Registro Civil office where the record is kept or that issues the certificate; if it's in another state, we still handle it.
- To use it abroad, it has to be apostilled, as a separate service.
- We can handle this procedure 100% for you, with no need for you to travel.
We guarantee our service, not what the agency decides. If something depends on them, we tell you clearly and in time.
