FAQ
What happens if I submit a plain copy or a photo of the record?
It gets rejected: almost all official procedures require a certified copy with fe pública. A plain copy proves nothing.
Is the certified copy of the record as valid as the original?
Yes: it carries fe pública and works for any official procedure.
How much does it cost?
The professional fee, from $25, covers the full handling; official registry fees and shipping are separate.
Do I have to pick it up myself?
No, we handle it for you and send it to you wherever you are.
Can I use it to get an apostille later?
Yes, it's the base document for the apostille; we can continue with that step.
About this procedure
A certified copy of a civil registry record is a faithful reproduction, stamped and signed by the authority, of your birth, marriage or death certificate, with the same fe pública as the original. It's requested for almost everything: registering a child, getting married, processing pensions, inheritances, your cédula (Venezuelan ID card) or passport, and as the basis for apostilling the document and using it abroad. The original is often damaged, lost or in another city, and going in person to the office where it's kept is an ordeal. We do it for you: we locate the registry office where the record is entered, request the certified copy and hand it to you ready to use. If you're going to use it abroad, we link it to the legalization (official verification of a signature or document) and the apostille (Hague Convention certification for use abroad) through the digital channel of SAREN (Venezuela's registries and notaries service). Tell us which record you need and where the event took place, and we'll take care of the entire procedure.
Legal framework and important notes
Ley de Registros y Notarías (Registries and Notaries Law) · Código Civil (Civil Code) · 1961 Hague Apostille Convention
- A certified copy carries the same fe pública as the original and works for any official procedure.
- If you're going to use it abroad, it's first legalized and then apostilled, 100% online through the SAREN online system; we can link both steps in one go.
We guarantee our service, not what the agency decides. If something depends on them, we tell you clearly and in time.
