FAQ

What happens if I'm asked abroad for the company's full history and I only have loose papers?

You'll be asked to legalize each one, and you lose weeks. The complete legalized file takes care of everything in one go.

What does legalizing the company file cover?

The company's full set of documents, ready to be valid before authorities abroad.

How much does it cost?

The professional fee, from $60, covers the legalization through SAREN and the apostille of the file; official registry fees, based on the number of pages, are separate.

Are legalizing and apostilling the same thing?

They're stages of the same process; we do both depending on the destination.

What does the timing depend on?

On the size of the file; the estimate is 3 to 6 business days.

About this procedure

The company file is the complete set of your company's documents at the Registro Mercantil (Commercial Registry): articles of incorporation and bylaws, every shareholders' meeting, capital increases, board changes and all other acts recorded over its life. It's requested legalized and apostilled when someone needs to review the company's entire corporate history: in a company acquisition, a due diligence, a foreign investment, an international tender or the opening of a subsidiary. Since it brings together many pages, it's the most extensive procedure in this group. The chain starts at the Registro Mercantil, goes through SAREN and ends with the apostille (Hague Convention certification for use abroad) from the MPPRE (Venezuela's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which issues apostilles). We request the file, handle its legalization through SAREN's digital system and process the apostille, and hand it to you complete and organized, ready to submit.
