FAQ

What happens if I try to get my studies recognized with just my degree?

Almost every university and institution asks for legalized transcripts along with the degree. Without them, the recognition process doesn't even start.

Why legalize my certified transcripts?

To get your studies recognized or continue your degree abroad.

How much does it cost?

The professional fee, from $40, covers handling through the GTU and the apostille at the MPPRE; official fees and shipping are separate.

Does this go through SAREN?

No: academic documents go through the GTU and the MPPRE.

Do I need the original?

Yes, in good condition, issued by your university.

About this procedure

Certified transcripts, and often the curriculum (pensum), are requested to continue your studies, do a master's degree or get courses recognized abroad. Just like your degree, their correct route is the GTU, not SAREN (Venezuela's registries and notaries service): the Gestión de Trámites Universitarios (university document validation system) validates the document nationally and then the MPPRE apostilles it through its electronic legalization and apostille system. We do it all for you: we tell you which documents to gather, handle the GTU step, process the apostille and hand you your transcripts ready to submit to the destination university or institution. If you'll be requesting course equivalencies, it's a good idea to apostille the curriculum too; we tell you what they'll ask for depending on the country and the school.
