FAQ
What happens if the correction was already ordered and the note isn't entered?
The record still shows the wrong detail, even though the order exists. Without the marginal note, the correction stays stuck in the case file.
Does this correct the detail on my record?
We get the already-ordered correction marginal note entered, so your record reflects the correction that was decided.
How much does it cost?
The professional fee, from $40, covers handling the marginal note; official fees, if any, are separate.
Why is the correction note necessary?
Because without it, the record still shows the wrong detail.
What do I need?
The administrative or court decision that ordered the correction; if you don't have it yet, that's the service you need first.
About this procedure
When you get the correction of a record approved, whether through the administrative route or by court judgment, there's still one step left for it to be real in your documents: entering the marginal note (annotation added to a recorded document) for that correction on the original record. It's the annotation in the margin that officially states what the wrong detail was and what the correct one is, leaving the record updated and ready to use. Without that note, the approved correction doesn't show up when someone checks your record, and all the effort of correcting it is left hanging. Sometimes people get the approval and don't complete the annotation, or they have the judgment and don't know it has to be taken to the Registro Civil to be entered. We close that loop: we make sure the approved correction is properly entered as a marginal note at the Registro Civil, and we hand you the record corrected and in force. The last step that turns the approval into a document that works.

- If you still need to correct the record, that procedure (administrative or judicial) is separate, and we handle it too
We guarantee our service, not what the agency decides. If something depends on them, we tell you clearly and in time.
