FAQ
What happens if I'm told to "renew" RUPDAE?
It means they're asking without knowing about the change: since 2026 the certificate doesn't expire. We check that it's current and, if needed, update it; sometimes nothing needs to be done.
Does RUPDAE expire?
No: since 2026 it has indefinite validity.
How much does it cost?
The professional fee, from $45, covers the check and, if needed, the update; there's no official fee.
When do I actually have to update?
When you change something in your RIF.
And if everything is in order?
We confirm it in writing. If you also need the document to show, we get it through our RUPDAE certificate service.
About this procedure
We'll be straight with you here, because it's worth it: since 2026, RUPDAE NO longer has an expiration date. Under the Ley de Celeridad de Trámites (Administrative Procedures Streamlining Law), SUNDDE gave the certificate indefinite validity, and now it only has to be updated when the company changes something in its RIF (Venezuelan tax ID). In other words, the old obligation to 'renew' it every so often is, in principle, gone. If someone sells it to you as a procedure you have to repeat every year no matter what, they're charging you for something the law eliminated.
So what is this service for? For the real situations that do come up: an official or a client who still asks you for 'the renewed RUPDAE' because they haven't caught up with the change; an old certificate you're not sure still works; or simply the peace of mind of having a professional check your status with SUNDDE and confirm, in writing, that you're in good standing. In a country where the rules change fast, knowing for sure where you stand is worth it.
We check and put you in order: we review your status in SUNDDE's system, confirm that your registration is current, and if something needs updating because of a RIF change, we handle it. The price starts at $45 and is adjusted to what needs to be done. And if, after reviewing, it turns out you don't need anything, we tell you right away. A lawyer reviews your situation before we start, no strings attached.
Legal framework and important notes
RUPDAE rules under the Ley Orgánica de Precios Justos (Organic Fair Prices Law)
- Since 2026, under the Ley Orgánica para la Celeridad y Optimización de Trámites Administrativos (Organic Law for the Speed and Optimization of Administrative Procedures, Official Gazette No. 7,018 Extraordinary, 04/08/2026), the RUPDAE certificate no longer has an expiration date. Its validity is indefinite
- It's only updated when there are changes in your RIF
- This service checks the status of your registration and updates it if needed, with our usual honesty. We don't charge you for a renewal the law eliminated
We guarantee our service, not what the agency decides. If something depends on them, we tell you clearly and in time.
