Legalization of an estate tax compliance certificate
We legalize the estate tax compliance certificate issued by SENIAT (Venezuela's tax and customs authority) and apostille it. It's the document that clears you to sell or move inherited assets.

FAQ
What happens if I try to sell an inherited property without the legalized certificate?
The registry won't record the sale. SENIAT's compliance certificate is the key to moving inherited assets, and once legalized it's valid wherever you present it.
Who issues the estate tax compliance certificate?
SENIAT issues it; here we legalize it so it's valid for the procedure that requires it.
How much does it cost?
The professional fee, from $40, covers the legalization and, if applicable, the apostille; official fees are separate.
Do I need it apostilled?
Only if you use it outside Venezuela; we guide you.
Do you handle the inheritance tax return?
Yes, it's a separate service; here we legalize the certificate already issued.
About this procedure
The estate tax compliance certificate is the document SENIAT issues once the estate has filed and paid the corresponding tax. It's the key that unlocks everything: without it, the law bars selling inherited assets, recording a sale or having the bank release the money in the deceased's accounts, even if you're an only child. Important: the certificate is issued by SENIAT, not by the Registry; what we do here is legalize it and, if you'll use it abroad, apostille it, so an heir living abroad can act on assets in Venezuela or present the certificate to institutions in another country. If you also need to file the inheritance tax return with SENIAT from scratch, that's a service we handle too; tell us where you are in the process and we'll walk you through the whole estate.
Legal framework and important notes
Ley de Registros y Notarías (Registries and Notaries Law) · Código Civil (Civil Code) · 1961 Hague Apostille Convention
- Without SENIAT's estate tax compliance certificate, inherited assets can't be sold or moved, not even if you're an only child.
- If the details don't match the system, the procedure is rejected.
We guarantee our service, not what the agency decides. If something depends on them, we tell you clearly and in time.
